Thich Tam Chau: Buddhism with People | Part II: Human Method | Salvation and Liberation "When the mind perceives that all constructions are impermanent, the self is suffering and illusory, then the mind merges with the eternal essence of absolute Nirvana" - Sutra A Ham Liberation Liberation is the ultimate goal, the ultimate method of Buddhism. Liberation will manifest right in the conduct of human beings if people want to be liberated and liberated. The human mind is always agitated, rhythmic with crazy delusions and attachment afflictions. Attachment to form is permanent, is beautiful, good, bad, human, is me, etc.. Attachment to feeling is happiness is suffering, is not happy, not suffering. Clinging to thoughts is good, bad, right, left is not good, not bad, not right, not wrong. Clinging to actions that are right, wrong, reasonable, and unreasonable. Clinging to the perception of individual, family, country, mountain, river, land, square, round, big, small, etc. Having attachment is inherently desirable and conservative. To be lustful, to be conservative means to be lusted, to be dominated and bound. In the situation of being dominated and bound, people can bear so much suffering, oppression, lack of freedom, it's like a prisoner imprisoned in a prison. Humans are bound like that, a small part of the external environment, a large part of the inner cause. And the oppressions, struggles, and impulses of lust are even more harsh than the ten surrounding circumstances. The prison of unjust power is more spacious than the dark prison of the selfish "me". The chains that bind the prisoner are less strong than the chains of despicable desires in the individual. Realizing the pitiful slavery of humans caused by lust, Buddhism focuses the most on liberating each person by means of the eradication of sex. The less the desire, the more freedom, the selfish shell is broken, the soul is more free and relaxed. "The wind from all directions only blows to a wide place, people's hearts are hidden and cannot sympathize with the intentions of all directions." Wanting to be free means wanting to open up the domination and bondage, wanting to get out of the oppressive place to enjoy innocent joy, absorb the atmosphere of freedom and bathe in the sunshine of glorious independence, true to reality, bringing benefits to themselves and to others. Giving up desire, using desire to eliminate desire, not being dominated by desire is the ultimate liberation, the ultimate liberation. 1. UNDERSTANDING Impermanence “We never bathe in the same river twice”. - Heraclite "All dharmas, things, moving or immovable in the world are the signs of impermanence." The universe is not static, the universe is always dynamic, the universe is not a stagnant pond, the universe is an ever-flowing waterfall, the constituent drops are always successively changing. Things have no entity, things are only caused by causes and conditions arising, existing, and annihilated in constant change and harmony with boundless space and endless time. The table is a composite of nails, wood, and the craftsman's work, but it will be a useless item of a broken day. The house is the result of so much lime, brick, tile, earth, wood, sand, workers and will give an unexpected appearance of the ruined day. The beautiful blue shirt of the young girl wearing it is also subject to the predestined theorem and will fade away day by day, will be tinged with time but fall to a different color. Even the needle and cup were also broken and broken… That means everything is governed by the theorem of impermanence. That theorem has never been proved more clearly than in the present life. Learn to build the theorem of impermanence, giving us an intuition: Things are not real, enduring and permanent, things are not alone and separate in selfish and self-centred biases. Therefore, it urges people to give up their desires and attachments, to boldly step into life, to build a peaceful and liberated foundation for mankind. Understanding the reason of impermanence to enter the true nature. 2. UNDERSTANDING REASONABLE "Sentient beings are a convenient pseudonym, to indicate a combination of many unstable elements: All dharmas are always changing". – A. Migot No Self Sutra The Fourteen Chapter says: “The four major parts (four elements) of me each have a name of their own, none of which is “I”. Without me, it's just a lie!" Self is just an empty noun, it is a formation of many other elements such as: earth, water, wind, fire, etc. It is based on individual, national, social or ideal that there is a distinction. It is always changing in the cycle of birth, standing, change, and cessation. The "me" five minutes later is no longer the self of a few minutes ago. The strand of hair is no longer the strand of hair it used to be. It changes, it makes the green hair gradually turn gray, the body is strong, the years will be weak and old. There is a silver point, there is an old age, that is, there is nothing that can guarantee the meaning of the word "I" anymore! All are without me (no-self) if separated from all. When the thing is gone, what is the desire to ask for a separate self. Selfishness also no longer sees selfishness to be useful. The stronghold border separating me and the person who is flattened, the dispute will no longer exist, me and the other person will reconcile in a vast and boundless sea of life, without hesitation and holding hands, working together to build to build eternal peace and true happiness for mankind. The morality of selflessness is the driving force that motivates people to advance in the service of humanity. 3. PRACTICE PRACTICE, samadhi, and wisdom “On the way to practice, try to increase your inner abilities to generate wisdom. When wisdom is clear, confusion and ambiguity are eliminated. – Pau Adam Precepts, Concentration, and Wisdom are the principles of cultivation, study and practice to realize the purpose of enlightenment and liberation. Scientists who bring practical results to humanity are not less elaborate in their understanding, get rid of delusions, calm mind and clear judgment. People want to become human, want to be liberated also cannot lack Precepts, Concentration, Wisdom. He became enlightened while his mind was still and completely clear. His enlightenment is not only self-liberation but also a perfect mirror that illuminates and brings out the truth that is inherent in sentient beings that sentient beings do not understand. That truth in any individual, in any location, it only requires a calm, lucid and harmonious mind with a great compassion to see it, that is, to be enlightened, to be liberated. . Precepts, Concentration, and Wisdom are three subjects that do not change and are the key to opening the door to Nirvana. A. PRACTICE THE ORDER "The precepts are very noble and pure to lead sentient beings to liberation" The Buddha's teaching "Precepts" is a teaching, prohibiting not to do anything contrary to the truth, contrary to the truth. good thing, contrary to the path of liberation. “Precepts” is a method of treating sins caused by body, mouth, and mind, in order to benefit themselves and others. While practicing the precepts, it is most necessary to keep the body and mouth outside in accordance with the Precepts, so that the inner mind will be pure. Inside, outside is clean, of course, from the place of delusion to the place of enlightenment. In order to reach enlightenment, it is necessary to focus on the following precepts: a/ The precepts of etiquette Are the precepts and majesty that have the function of preserving body and mind, not committing evil deeds, making body and mind calm. , pure as the five commandments v. v… b/ The Dharma Precepts are the precepts that command good deeds, self-benefit, the benefit of others, such as doing ten good deeds, etc.. Thanks to that, virtue, prestige, and freedom are increased. from being attached to the bondage of the human realm and no longer being controlled by the realm of the human c/ The sentient world is a teaching to save and save sentient beings to do salvific deeds and benefit the whole world. body. Thus, if practicing the Precepts correctly, of course, the body and mind are freed from all attachments and do not give rise to wrong and right actions. Thanks to the power of Precepts, it is possible to overcome the influence of the external, internal, to find the truth, to reach the place of true liberation. B. PRACTICE LEARNING "In the complete silence of the inner consciousness, the soul is peaceful and pure". Caufernau "Concentration" is a method of focusing on one scene, not allowing the mind to be distracted and not allowing the mind to wander according to conditions, because wandering inevitably produces false thoughts, there are deluded thoughts at the time of being confused. So meditation is the core of eliminating false thoughts, delusional thoughts. To do so, the first condition is to get rid of the wrong thoughts by bringing down the right thoughts and suppressing them. That is, while walking, standing, lying down, and sitting, when wrong thoughts arise, righteous thoughts should be suppressed immediately. When the wrong thoughts are eliminated, there are still clean and chaotic thoughts that always arise and disappear, you need to stop those thoughts to be calm. When keeping the mind concentration, then you must always stay away from the concept of keeping it, that is, the mind stays calm and no longer moves, because if you still keep the mind to keep the concentration, there are still false thoughts. In the practice to reach the point of accomplishment, it is necessary to apply the following methods according to the level of each person: a/ The Dharma door is the practice of breathing regulation, then follow the breath in and out. , making the mind not agitated. b/ The Dharma-door of mindfulness Keep mindfulness clean and calm, calm the mind in a pure thought. c/ The method of meditation Meditation is one-pointedly contemplating things, concentration is one scene of pure mindfulness. It is a method that uses thinking to study and research until a pure scene. Concentration helps the mind to be conditioned from distractions and darkness, wisdom is developed and power is generated, if it knows how to properly practice its method C. PRACTICE OF INTELLIGENCE “If one has wisdom Even if it is with the eyes of flesh, it is he who sees all things.” - The Sutra "Wisdom" is discriminating between truths and truths, choosing dharmas, ending doubts, proving true, Tue is the ability to enlighten the mind, contemplate things, penetrate and realize the truth. physical. Wisdom is the clear dharma of the self-mind, which is always available and available to everyone, just because of confusion, it does not know itself, causing wisdom not to be developed. Necessary method While practicing wisdom, he should first rely on the text to think and understand the truth, and then use the right to suppress wrong thoughts. When wrong thoughts are gone, only right wisdom remains, then use right wisdom to illuminate things and develop the truth. Until wisdom itself has penetrated the truth, enlightened to the truth, the clarity of self-mind always appears to be the fully enlightened one. Thus, thanks to the study of wisdom, we will be able to eliminate defilements and delusions, know the true nature and reality of things, clearly illuminate the mind and scene as void, and realize the truth as it really is. In short, the purpose of Buddhism is to want all sentient beings to be enlightened to the truth, to live according to the truth, to be free and liberated. But, in order to do that, it is necessary to take practice as the basis, and the main principles of all practice are Precepts, Concentration and Wisdom. So we should pay special attention to those three subjects and practice. Because only the practice in accordance with the basic principles will lead to the goal of liberation and enlightenment of Buddhism. “If anyone tries to practice and cultivate his mind to be free from the cycle of defilements: greed, hatred, and delusion, of course he will be completely liberated.” EXPERIENCE THE EXPLANATION OF emancipation "The path to the cessation of suffering is the true path, besides that there is no other path" - Migration Sutra "Liberation is the end of relative desire and absolute complete understanding" Escape is a common human tendency. While people are in a situation of suffering and confusion, of course people only wish to be peaceful and liberated. But that wish, rarely gives them a satisfactory result, because they only seek liberation outside of themselves, but they do not seek liberation within themselves. It is man who is the cause, is the image of suffering and confusion, human beings are also the cause and image of peace and liberation. So when people know how to get rid of delusion, understand the truth, consider all pleasures and splendors to be false, and know how to use them to benefit sentient beings, then that is true and complete liberation. confusion. "If you are truly confident and confused, you can't be saved" - Dharma Bao Dan Sutra Based on the understanding and liberation, it can be analyzed here into three categories: a/ Liberation about human circumstances. many times bring people a direct suffering, so people just want a spacious, free life, free from material and spiritual constraints, depending on people's thoughts. – Some people want to live a full material life such as food, clothes, utensils, a beautiful wife, beautiful children, a tall house, a wide door, great power, rich and abundant and not oppressed or restrained by any power, allowing them to satisfy their desires. - Some people want to be separated from material things, consider matter as the bait of lust, as an aid to the struggle, they just want to find a secluded place to practice the way of karma. When the practice is successful, external matter cannot control them, so they are liberated. Comparing the two concepts of liberation from the above situations, we see that they are all inclined to one aspect, one side prefers to live in a full material life, the other does not care about external material things, just needs to train the mind. mind only. Tilted to a decisive aspect that has not been completely liberated b/ Liberation of his own mind, although he has overcome the situation of binding according to his will, he has not been able to free the great suffering caused by Venom: greed, anger, delusion… spitting out. Hunger, lack of clothes is suffering, then lust is the embodiment of greed, hatred, and delusion. Reality has proven: how many people are envious on their clothes, swallowing tears in their pearls and ivory, they can end up dying like the poor, cold, or even more miserable and the majority are different. . That is, they are driven by greed, hatred, and delusion. To be freed from all these sufferings is nothing more than eliminating the cause of suffering, that is, the destruction of desire, anger, and delusion, opening a straight line to the goal of lasting liberation, beyond the cycle of birth. reincarnation death. "Only the absence of birth and death is absolute happiness." - The Great Nirvana Sutra c/ Complete liberation Humans have been freed from the bondage of afflictions, freed from birth and death, but still not completely liberated, because there is still a sign of liberation. That is, the attachment is "liberated". As for attachment, of course, understanding has not been reached, practice has not been tolerated. On the contrary, when knowledge is no longer limited by time and space, is no longer dominated by the mundane psychology and physiology, entering and leaving a clean place without pleasure, a place that is unclean, and not defilement, that is when Those who have realized the truth of things, the essence of the universe and are free from obstacles, then that is the ultimate liberation. The nature of the mirror is clear, so it can be bright anywhere, anything can be reflected in it. After looking at the mirror, it is still a mirror, and when it is clear, it is still clear. The nature of the lotus tree, the lotus is pure and unobstructed, but in the filthy mud, it is still as motionless. The essence of electricity is fast, bright, no matter what form it is used in, it is still bright and when it breaks away from that form it is still "electric". Thus, the ultimate liberation means that there is no longer any attachment in understanding and practice, but it is all complete and free. Therefore, in the actions and thoughts of those who possess some of the virtues of true liberation, that person is truly liberated, has peace, and has real benefits for everyone and everything. . Conclusion Humans are in harmony in the cosmic being, subject to the common law of evolution of the universe, but with their own characteristics and forms, depending on its law of cause and effect. Man is the master of all human behavior and career. Man can become a person or be liberated only when he knows how to train his body and mind, understand his obligations, and eliminate desires. straight ahead on the profitable road, no longer restricted and prevented. “People are everything and above all!…” END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.8/7/2022.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
